My Journey

Have you ever found that one passion that makes you shine? For me, that passion is photography. I first fell in love with the art when I took my first B&W film photography class back in 2008. The magic of the darkroom and the aesthetic of fine art photography still influence my work today.

After honing my craft in Chicago at Harrington College of Design—studying portrait photography, event coverage, and studio work—I returned to Montana in 2013 for a dear friend’s wedding. That quick trip turned into my first wedding season, where I photographed eight weddings in just a few weeks. It was then that I realized this was exactly what I was meant to do.

My photographic journey evolved further during a few seasons in the Big Sky/Bozeman area, where I had the privilege of mentoring under a true wizard of wedding photography. (I’m not kidding, I think he could summon rainbows, half the weddings we worked on had at least one!) This time of learning and unlearning helped me develop a keen eye for the moments that matter: the belly laughs, the quiet glances, and the genuine emotions that tell a wedding story.

Every wedding I photograph is a unique story—captured naturally, candidly, and with deep attention to detail. I focus on those moments that you can feel years later—the laughter shared with family, the way your eyes light up when you see each other, and even the subtle details like the patina on a family heirloom ring or the elegant lines of a bridal gown. I’m relentlessly sentimental about preserving these memories, knowing they’ll hang in your home and be cherished for generations.

I am relentlessly sentimental. It is an amazing feeling to know that something I have captured will hang in the home of so many families, and be cherished, for generations to come. It’s nearly overwhelming when someone who’s never liked any photos of themselves and hates being in front of a camera, lets you know how much they love an image you captured and how it’s changed how they perceive themselves. It’s my favorite when you can hear the laugh in a photo and it transports you back to a time or a place where you can feel the energy of a loved one.
